Never be cold again! Found in the western highlands of Guatemala, the small village of Momostenango is known for both its adherence to the Mayan calendar and its warm wool blankets. Skilled artisans, made of mostly indigenous K'iche' Mayans, use foot-on-treadle looms to turn out the woolen blankets (chamarras), bearing traditional designs. The blankets are thick, soft and made for warmth to fend off the nighttime cold in the high mountain villages of Guatemala.
