TRAVEL GUIDE

Whether you're here for the weekend or just looking for something to eat before swinging by our show, we've got you covered! Take a morning drive before the "House Plants" to gawk over the beautiful Victorian mansions in the West End or East Walnut Hills. Spend a day learning and reflecting at the Underground Railroad Freedom Center. For a quick adventure with a ton of Cincinnati flair, head to Ludlow Ave in Clifton for lunch at the oldest standing Skyline Chili then grab a cone a block away at Graeter's  Ice Cream, a local favorite. THINGS TO DO

  • CINCINNATI ART MUSEUM / CONSERVATORY / EDEN PARK (Walnut Hills)

950 Eden Park Dr, Cincinnati, OH 45202

What better way to prepare for "House Plants" than spending the morning in nearby Eden Park! Grab coffee at The Fix, then stroll through Eden Park until you find the overlook, with a panoramic view of Kentucky and the Ohio River. Nestled in the park you'll find the FREE Cincinnati Art Museum where you can take in a talk on indigenous art; or go to the Krohn Conservatory and immerse yourself in botanical goodness! After our show, don't forget to go back to the park to see the beautifully lit Art Climb stairs.

  • FINDLAY MARKET / OVER-THE-RHINE

    1801 Race St, Cincinnati, OH

Foodie? Don't leave Cincinnati without a trip to Findlay Market where you'll find farm fresh meats and dairy, local coffee, prepared foods, lush house plants, and handcrafted gifts. Leave time to browse the local shops and restaurants in the surrounding Over-the-Rhine. Bakersfield is our go-to for tacos and margaritas, and Continuum has great clothing and accessories!

Side note: Over-the-Rhine (OTR) is home to the nation's largest collection of Italianate buildings. The gorgeous, colorful architecture is what made me fall in love with Cincinnati!

  • BURNET WOOD or MOUNT AIRY FOREST

    3251 Brookline Ave, Cincinnati, OH

Our favorite places to find nature without leaving the city! Both wooded areas feature hiking trails, parks, ponds, and disc golf courses. Go to the smaller Burnet Wood if you'd like a hike right in the middle of the city, then reward yourself with chili from the first Skyline conveniently located right by the park entrance! For a longer hike, try making the climb at Mount Airy Forest, then browse through Northside's shops like Shake It Records on your way back into town!

  • AMERICAN SIGN MUSEUM (Camp Washington)

    1330 Monmouth Avenue, Cincinnati, OH

The coolest neon signs you'll ever see! Some of the signs are over 100 years old , and each one has been carefully preserved by the Sign Museum. Take the tour if you want to learn the history of each piece. (Pictured)

  • JUNGLE JIM'S INTERNATIONAL MARKET

Definitely block off a few hours to explore this MASSIVE, 200,000+ sf grocery store specializing in foods from around they world. They even have hard-to-find flavors and nostalgic foods from your childhood. Two locations to choose from, Eastgate (the largest) and Fairfield (the original).

  • NEWPORT & COVINGTON, KY

Walk along the gorgeous Cincinnati Riverfront, then walk, bike, or drive across the bridge to Kentucky where you'll find cute shops and restaurants along the Ohio River.  Stop by Tesori, one of Newport's awesome vintage and antique stores!

One of my favorite places! The local nonprofit sells used/donated art supplies so you never know what the inventory will be from week-to-week. Perfect for inspiring creativity!
